Position Description:

The Staff Accountant will work collaboratively with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting-related activities. This position will be responsible for actively participating in keeping LGCY’s payable, fixed asset, and lease accounting up to date, assisting in maintaining financial reports and general bookkeeping.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable for all operating expenses. This includes reviewing and preparing payment requests for all inventory vendors, subcontractors, leases, customer reimbursements, and other operating expenses
  • Maintain prepaid expense schedule and record monthly journal entries
  • Assist in maintaining the bank reconciliation. Record cash inflows and outflows to correct accounts based on the nature of transactions
  • Ensure that all expense transactions have been tagged by department and location, so that budgets can be prepared in a timely and accurate manner
  • Review and record payable invoices in NetSuite
  • Assist the Senior Accountant in the preparation of weekly payment runs to inventory vendors and contractors assisting in solar system installations
  • Review and approve credit card transactions, record those transactions in NetSuite, and reconcile NetSuite to the credit card statement at month end
  • Assist in cost accounting by ensuring all transactions recorded are properly classified, assigned to a department, and tagged to the relative revenue transaction ID, if applicable
  • Abide by all company procedures and accounting principles
  • Work directly with vendors, clients and internal team members to ensure that payments are made regularly to vendors with whom the company works to fulfill solar system installations
  • Assist with external audits as needed
  • Assist in multiple month end procedures, including credit card reconciliations, fixed asset reconciliation, expense classification, etc.
  • Manage projects requiring creativity and ability to create solutions to unique and unusual problems
  • Examine statements to ensure accuracy
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Ability to work independently and navigate through ambiguity
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify problems and determine possible solutions

Day in the Life of a LGCY Logistics Manager:
