The Inspection Technician will host inspections for LGCY Solar Installation Services. As an integral member of LGCY’s Field Operations team, the Inspection Technician keeps jobs moving efficiently towards permission to operate while meeting monthly objectives. The Inspection Technician will be responsible for all field and administrative tasks associated with passing inspections. Success in this role looks like driving the Inspection Departments working queues to zero as quickly, safely, and efficiently as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess job readiness for final inspection, and schedule inspections with local building inspector
  • Call AHJ to confirm inspection time frame in the morning
  • Provide excellent customer service to homeowners by informing them of inspection arrival times and letting them know what will be done while on the property
  • Review pictures and site conditions and gather all necessary parts to complete inspection on site
  • Verifying labeling and placards are up to code for inspection, and rivet placards
  • Meet inspector, assist with setup, tying off ladders and opening solar equipment or main panel
  • Maintain the safety of themselves and others by adhering to all written and verbal instructions, promptly reporting and/or correcting all hazards or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to management on all safety issues
  • Take notes for corrections and notify management of any issues or updates
  • Keep inspection vehicle stocked with the necessary materials
  • Service solar panel systems when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record according to company policy
  • Excellent customer-service skills including written and verbal communication
  • Coachable, self-motivated, and accountable
  • Must be punctual with appointments and deadlines

Preferred Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience from relatable field preferred

Requirements For This Role:

  • 2+ years of prior solar/roofing/electrical experience

Responsibilities:

  • Verifying Permits are correct for MPUs
  • Managing MPU install and inspections queues
  • Completing/Closing out each of these tasks with proper documentation
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to schedule upgrades and minimize disruption.
  • Coordinate with the utility company, homeowners, and AHJ’s to coordinate successful MPU installations.
  • Collaborate with inspectors to ensure that work meets regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the upgrade project.
  • Effectively communicate job and employee needs with leadership
  • Verify all inspections reschedules
  • Remain informed of market policy and legislative solar issues

In the District Manager role, you will be responsible for the full business operations of the location this position serves.   • Achieve first time funding approvals at a rate of 90% or more

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of leadership experience and proven ability to successfully lead a team of 10+
  • 2+ years of experience in the solar industry is required
  • Demonstrate a capability to defuse escalated situations
  • Must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of residential solar construction
