Position Description:
The Staff Accountant will work collaboratively with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting-related activities. This position will be responsible for actively participating in keeping LGCY’s payable, fixed asset, and lease accounting up to date, assisting in maintaining financial reports and general bookkeeping.
Responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable for all operating expenses. This includes reviewing and preparing payment requests for all leases, marketing costs and other operating expenses

Maintain fixed asset depreciation schedule and record monthly journal entries

Maintain 842 lease listing in NetSuite, including the initiation and termination of leases as appropriate

Maintain prepaid expense schedule and record monthly journal entries

Assist the Senior Accountant in maintaining the bank reconciliation. Record cash inflows and outflows to correct accounts based on the nature of transactions

Ensure that all expense transactions have been tagged by department and location, so that budgets can be prepared in a timely and accurate manner

Work directly with the Senior Accountant to ensure that all month-end accounting tasks are performed in a timely manner

Manage projects requiring creativity and ability to create solutions to unique and unusual problems

Recommend best financial actions after analyzing accounting options

Examine statements to ensure accuracy

Suggest ways to reduce costs, enhance revenues and improve profits

Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Ability to work independently and navigate through ambiguity

Proficient in Word and Excel
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Ability to identify problems and determine possible solutions

Strong organizational skill with the ability to multitask and prioritize projects
Nice to Have:

Experience with NetSuite
-
Credit card and bank reconciliation experience
-
Fixed asset, lease and prepaid expense accounting experience
-
AP specific experience (recording invoices, payment preparation and recording, etc.)
