About This Role:

The Energy Storage Specialist will play a pivotal role within the LGCY Training Department by supporting Service Departments at each of our locations across the nation. This position will be tasked with training Electricians and Service Technicians on best practices for installing and commissioning energy storage systems including but not limited to: Installer Tool Kit App, Enphase sunlight backup package, Enphase encharge batteries, automatic transfer switches, and emergency back-up generators. A successful Energy Storage Specialist will also create SOPs to set our Service teams up for success in each market LGCY Power serves.


  • Train on-site Service Team Members on installing and commissioning energy storage systems in a safe and effective manner

  • Create and maintain SOPs on equipment layout, raceway planning, bending conduit, and other expected standards for installed electrical equipment

  • Demonstrate a complete understanding on applicable NEC requirements

  • Collaborate with Design & Engineering Team to optimize PV storage systems based on loads that will be supported in partial home and whole home backup scenarios

  • Facilitate proper worksite safety principles on RAZ Zones, PPE, electrical safety, and required clearances for live conductors

  • Provide offsite support for technicians in the field

  • Articulate troubleshooting methods for commissioning and other technical issues effectively

  • Assist with RMA or warranty requests

  • Represent LGCY Power in a professional and respectful manner

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the VP of Operational Training/Development

Required Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • 3 years solar electrical experience OR 2 years of PV Energy Storage Systems and 2 years PV installation experience

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record according to company policy

  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time for training purposes

  • Experience with residential solar installations

  • Advanced knowledge performing residential main panel upgrades

  • Excellent customer-service skills including written and verbal communication

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Active Solar Edge, Enphase, or Tesla training certifications

  • Local electrical apprenticeship registration

  • Completion of an electrical apprentice program or associated formal education

  • Experience working with grid tied battery backup systems

  • OSHA 10

  • Wireman license or Journeyman license is highly preferred


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring

  • Ability to withstand heights, climb ladders and be on roofs

  • Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding

  • Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time

  • Ability to work in all weather and climates

  • Ability to work in confined spaces, such as attics
